Cano Analytics makes it straightforward to get the right data in front of the right people. You can share dashboards directly with workspace members using role-based permissions, generate public read-only links for stakeholders who don’t have a Cano account, embed dashboards in internal tools or websites, and schedule automated email snapshots so your team always has fresh numbers in their inbox.

Internal Sharing

To share a dashboard with members of your Cano workspace:
  1. Open the dashboard you want to share.
  2. Click the Share button in the top-right header.
  3. In the sharing panel, type the name or email address of a workspace member.
  4. Select their permission level (see Permission Levels below).
  5. Click Send Invite.
The invited member receives an in-app notification and, optionally, an email. They can access the dashboard immediately from their Dashboards list.

Viewer vs. Editor Roles

  • Viewers can see all charts and apply temporary filter overrides, but they cannot save changes to the dashboard layout or chart configuration.
  • Editors can add, edit, move, and delete charts, rename the dashboard, and modify filters. They cannot change sharing settings or delete the dashboard.
Only Admins can manage sharing settings and delete dashboards. Public share links let anyone view a dashboard in a read-only, no-login-required interface — useful for sharing metrics with external partners, investors, or customers. To generate a public link:
  1. Open the Share panel from the dashboard header.
  2. Toggle Enable public link to on.
  3. Copy the generated URL and share it however you like.
To revoke a public link:
  1. Return to the Share panel.
  2. Toggle Enable public link to off.
The link is immediately deactivated. Anyone who visits the old URL will see a “Dashboard not found” message.
Public share links are accessible to anyone who has the URL — there is no authentication gate. Do not share dashboards that contain sensitive user data, revenue figures, or personally identifiable information via a public link unless you are certain the audience is appropriate.

Embedding Dashboards

You can embed any dashboard into an internal tool, wiki, or external website using a standard HTML <iframe>. The embedded view is read-only and respects the same data access as a public share link. To get your embed code:
  1. Open the Share panel and enable the public link (required for embeds).
  2. Click Get Embed Code.
  3. Copy the snippet and paste it into your HTML.
Embed snippet
Replace YOUR_DASHBOARD_ID with your dashboard’s ID (visible in the dashboard URL) and YOUR_EMBED_TOKEN with the embed token shown in the Share panel.
On the Pro plan, you can enable password protection for embedded dashboards. When enabled, viewers must enter a password before the embed loads, giving you a lightweight access gate for sensitive dashboards without requiring full Cano accounts. Enable it under Share → Embed Settings → Require Password.

Scheduled Email Reports

Scheduled reports automatically email a snapshot of your dashboard to a list of recipients on a daily or weekly cadence, keeping stakeholders informed without anyone having to remember to check manually. To set up a scheduled report:
  1. Open the Share panel and click Schedule Report.
  2. Choose a frequency: Daily or Weekly.
    • For weekly reports, select the day of the week the email should send.
  3. Set the send time and timezone.
  4. Add recipients by typing email addresses (workspace members or external addresses).
  5. Optionally customize the email subject line.
  6. Click Save Schedule.
Recipients receive an email with a static PNG snapshot of the dashboard plus a link to the live version. Scheduled reports use the dashboard’s default date range at the time of sending.
You can create multiple schedules for the same dashboard — for example, a daily internal report and a weekly executive summary with different recipient lists.

Permission Levels

The table below summarizes what each role can do within a shared dashboard. Workspace Owners automatically have Admin-level access to all dashboards in the workspace, regardless of individual dashboard sharing settings.
