Collaborating effectively means making sure everyone on your team has exactly the access they need — no more, no less. Cano Analytics uses role-based permissions so you can invite analysts, editors, and administrators with confidence that each person can only see and change what their role allows.
The number of team members you can invite depends on your plan. Free workspaces support up to 3 members, Starter up to 10, and Pro and Enterprise plans support unlimited members. See the Billing page for a full plan comparison.

Roles and Permissions

Each role grants a specific level of access across four areas of Cano Analytics.
  • Viewer — Can browse and view dashboards but cannot create, edit, or export anything.
  • Analyst — Can view all dashboards and create new ones, but cannot modify data source connections.
  • Editor — Can create and edit dashboards and connect new data sources, but has no access to billing or workspace settings.
  • Admin — Has full operational access including workspace settings. Can view but not modify billing details.
  • Owner — Has unrestricted access to all features, including billing management and workspace deletion. Each workspace has exactly one Owner.

Inviting a Team Member

1

Open Team settings

Navigate to Settings → Team in your workspace.
2

Click Invite Member

Click the Invite Member button in the top-right corner of the team list.
3

Enter their email address

Type the email address of the person you want to invite. They must use this address to accept the invitation.
4

Choose a role

Select the appropriate role from the dropdown. Refer to the permissions table above if you are unsure which role fits their responsibilities.
5

Send the invitation

Click Send Invite. The invitee receives an email with a link to join your workspace. The invitation expires after 72 hours — you can resend it from the pending invites list if needed.

Removing a Team Member

1

Open Team settings

Go to Settings → Team.
2

Find the member

Locate the member in the list. You can search by name or email address.
3

Remove them

Click the ··· menu next to their name and select Remove Member. Confirm the action in the dialog that appears.
Removing a member revokes their access immediately. Any dashboards or data sources they created remain in the workspace and are not deleted.

Transferring Ownership

Each workspace has a single Owner. Transferring ownership moves all Owner-level privileges — including billing management and workspace deletion — to another member.
1

Open Team settings

Navigate to Settings → Team.
2

Find the new owner

Locate the member you want to promote to Owner. They must already be a member of the workspace.
3

Initiate the transfer

Click the ··· menu next to their name and select Transfer Ownership.
4

Confirm the transfer

Type your workspace name to confirm the action and click Transfer Ownership. You will be automatically downgraded to the Admin role.
Ownership transfer is immediate. Once confirmed, the new Owner has full control of the workspace including billing and deletion. Make sure you are transferring to the correct person before confirming.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

SAML-based Single Sign-On is available on Enterprise plans, allowing your team to authenticate with Cano Analytics through your existing identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, and others). With SSO enabled:
  • Team members log in through your identity provider — no separate Cano Analytics password is required.
  • You can enforce SSO so that password-based login is disabled for your domain.
  • Member provisioning and deprovisioning can be automated via SCIM.
To set up SSO for your organization, contact the Cano Analytics sales team. They will guide you through the SAML configuration and domain verification process.
